Event Description

Fracture mechanics is a mature subject with classic results that describe how cracks propagate through brittle materials under simple loading conditions. However, fracture also occurs in deformable, heterogeneous materials under complex loading conditions, living systems during both injury and morphogenesis, and in many crucial geophysical processes such as earthquakes and glacier calving. We have a wealth of new observational and experimental data regarding fracture in these settings, with relatively few models capable of explaining these processes. The goal of this PCTS workshop is to bring together researchers from a wide range of fields to advance our understanding of fracture.

Poster submission deadline is March 31, 2024

Please only register for in person attendance.  We will be live streaming the talks, but not recording. If you plan on watching the live stream, you do not need to register.
