My main research interest is in physics beyond the Standard Model. The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) will soon be providing data about physics at the TeV scale, hopefully shedding light on the precise nature of the Higgs mechanism. I have been involved in two aspects of related research: first, building and constraining models of what the LHC might find; second, developing techniques that can be used to extract useful information from LHC data. I am also thinking about implications for particle physics experiments of dark matter models that might explain recent astrophysics data. More generally, I am interested in quantum field theory and in particular strong dynamics, especially in finding tractable models that share features of QCD (the theory of the quarks and gluons that make up protons and neutrons).
