Driving/walking directions

Reaching the Princeton University Campus:

Historic Princeton University is located at the heart of historic Princeton town, which is located at the heart of the Garden State of New Jersey. In the middle of two major cities New York and Philadelphia, about 50 miles from each city and the East Coast, 10 miles from NJ Turnpike (I-95) Inter State Highway, 3 miles fron Princeton Jct train station served by Amtrak and NJ Transit, 2 miles from Governor's Mansion, 1 mile from Institute of Advanced Studies. Please see Visiting Campus page for more detailed information about driving directions, campus map, weather and other local resources.

Reaching the Department of Physics and the PCTS:

Please refer to the annotated maps below, 40.345356,-74.6514609, or the campus interactive map.

The Department of Physics and PCTS are located in Jadwin Hall, with student labs and large auditoriums in adjoining McDonnell Hall. Jadwin Hall, McDonnell Hall, Fine Hall (Tower), Taplin Auditorium and Science Library share a common plaza, located between Washington Road and the Princeton Football Stadium (Powers Field). The adjoining Lewis Library and Frick Chemistry Labs are interconnected with underground walkways. Across Washington Road, the Carl Icahn Laboratory, Institute of Integrative Genomics, Princeton Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Psychology can conveniently be reached by Striecker Bridge.

There is no official street address for Jadwin Hall yet (though Google Maps knows it). Vehicle access is via Stadium Drive starting under Streicker Bridge from Washington Road. Visitors can drive up to a small parking lot near the Eastern entrance, adjacent to the football stadium side. If this parking lot is full, try visitor parking spaces in lots 4,5,24,25. If those are also full, you should almost certainly be able to find a free space in lot#21 near the intersection of Faculty Road and Fitzrandolph Road. The arrows on the map below show walking directions from these lots, and for pedestrians walking in from the rest of campus across Washington Road.

The Dinky train shuttles between University Campus and the Princeton Junction train station. The Dinky station is about half a mile from Jadwin Hall; see the second map below for walking directions.

Deliveries should be made through the loading dock at the Southern side on Level-A.
